Job Description
Our rapidly expanding wine, cuisine, travel, and hospitality business needs a Lead Data Integration Engineer to join our engineering team. We are building the next generation customer intelligence platform for the global wine industry, aggregating the data across disparate cloud-based systems into a central data warehouse. We welcome either onsite or remote candidates who have solved complex integration problems before and would enjoy working in a distributed team run by Silicon Valley innovators.
In this position you will be expected to:
- Develop and maintain a data integration middleware to connect individual cloud-based web applications with a central data warehouse
- Administer and monitor data integration operations, ensuring availability, scalability, reliability, and security of the platforms
- Make improvements to the data integration process by recognizing opportunities for optimization and/or simplification, rewriting integrations as needed and improving the overall design
- Optimize data warehouse performance by dealing with any data conflicts that arise and keeping data definitions up to date
- Keep track of new technologies and strategies for ETL, updating our systems and procedures as necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data integration across multiple systems with challenging APIs
- Strong command of OOP principles and a mastery of any OOP language - you will participate directly in choosing and building the technology for our data integration needs
- Minimum 5 years experience with one of the major RDBMS as well as contemporary database technologies, including, but not limited to NoSQL systems
- An open-mind approach to problem-solving with the ability to research, find and learn the right tool for the job, when the project requires it
- Hands-on technical experience with ETL Tools and BI tools is a big plus, but not a requirement
- Familiarity with any type of order management and/or stock management system is also a plus
