Background:

This project is aimed at supporting the EUD to BiH in management of the EUIC network consisting of the EU Information Centre in Sarajevo, EU Information Points in Banja Luka, Mostar and Brcko District and the EU Info Corners.

 

In particular, it aims at increasing knowledge and general understanding of EU values and policies, EU institutions, EU programmes, benefits and obligations of EU membership, knowledge of the country’s accession process and the importance, volume and impact of projects of the EU assistance programme in the country.

General requirements:

 

In order to be considered for the shortlist, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

  • University degree;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Working knowledge of BiH languages;
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills (except Web master/IT support);
  • Familiar with EU-BiH relations and with BiH political scene, economic scene, media and civil organisations (except Webmaster/IT support);
  • At least 3 years of general professional experience;
  • Able to demonstrate the expertise they are engaged for (please, see job descriptions below);
  • Demonstrated experience in use of social media for public relations and publicity purposes will be a strong asset.

Duty station: any location in BiH (must be able to travel to Sarajevo upon an ad-hoc request)

 

Job description: S/he will be in charge of the full technical maintenance and content update of the bilingual website of the EUD, including pages, search engines, any sub-domains, etc. In addition, s/he will beresponsible for updating and maintaining the EUIC website. S/he will be responsible for securing the efficient functioning of the IT system of the EUIC and EUIPs. In coordination and upon approval of the EUD Communication Team, s/he will be responsible for maintaining the existing features of the website according to EUD standards, updating and maintaining an electronic mailing list, online subscription systems and interactive sections of the EUD website, as well as timely removal of outdated content from various sections of the EUD website, including the creation of archiving sections of the site.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Hosting and technical maintenance of the EUD/EUIC website;
  • Provision of ad-hoc technical check-ups and improvements to the EUD website upon request of the EUD;
  • Update of the EUD projects’ database upon request and provision of content from the Operations sections; as well as limited technical maintenance (limited due to existing restrictions of the system);
  • Development and implements SEO strategy for the EUD and EUIC websites;
  • Ensuring full compliance of the EUD/EUIC websites with iOS and Android mobile device operational systems;
  • Collecting data and reporting;
  • Supporting the other experts in online communication operations;
  • Ensuring availability of IT service 24/7.
